The Band is Back Together!!
Please give a bug warm "Welcome Back" to our Clinic Assistant Michaela Kramer! She's been at home with her beautiful new son Lucas on maternity leave. We have missed her so much, and appreciate all the wonderful women who covered for her while she was soaking up all the newborn snuggles.
Welcome back, Michaela! And congratulations to you and Drew on your sweet bundle of joy!

Ms. Garrison had a creative, interactive and festive project for her 6th grade ELA classes! Her students wrote haikus to go with ornaments they made. Today the classes did a "tree lighting" where students shared their haikus and ornaments, and then hung them on the class "Poetree" (Ms. Garrison knows it's actually spelled poetry, but she is very proud of her dad joke level pun.😁). Teachers and staff were then invited throughout the day to come light the trees! It was such a great project, and a lovely gesture to invite the school to participate! Great job Ms. Garrison and her students!
Featured tree lighter for Block 3: Registrar Extraordinaire Ms. Palermo!

Ms. Tornabene is back to share a project from her classes!
She writes, "My students are creating their own anchor charts, practicing the use of commas with direct addresses and tag questions. I’m so proud of them for working together to practice something that can be very tricky for them!"
We are so proud of them, too, Ms. Tornabene. And you! We are so glad you came to ILIS this year!

EXCITING UPDATE: Handles will be joining the Dine Out Party ALL DAY LONG! Be sure to mention ILIS PTO when you order.
We don't know about you, but ice cream for lunch and a chicken sandwich with well done cajun fries for dinner sounds GREAT. :)

On November 18th, our school had the pleasure of hosting veterans from the American Legion Post 31. They not only presented us with a new American flag, but they told our students stories of their service, what it means to be a veteran and how to properly pay respects to the flag. It was a very meaningful moment for our students and appreciate them coming to our school!

Remember all the way back to a week and a half ago when we hosted our Kindness Bundle Drive?! I know. It feels like a LIFETIME ago. 🤪 Well here we are with an update about how successful it was thanks to YOU! We got Yoga Bill’s car filled up to the brim, where there almost wasn’t any room for HIM! Packed with bundles, toiletries, snacks, gloves and more, off are the items that will give a direct and immediate impact to our local homeless community.
We want to shout out Ms. Crider, Ms. Cain and Ms. Richmond’s classes, who earned a pizza party for getting the most donations! We also want to thank our Warrior Ambassadors who helped keep the donations organized and then loaded up Yoga Bill’s car.
We appreciate all you did to make this a resounding success, Warriors! Good luck to both USC and Clemson today, and may the rivalry not cause too much separation in families after all of that thanks and giving we just had! 😆
(Photos feature Ms. Harden’s classes, Ms. Crider’s classes, and our Warrior Ambassadors!)

Happy Black Friday! We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the holiday together with those you love!
While you're online or in store shopping...
One of our Favorite "December to Remember" initiatives is our Toys for Tots drive! Please bring an unwrapped, new toy to school on Friday, December 6th. Students can bring it in through the car rider line or on the bus, and drop it in one of our boxes that morning.
Last year we filled up 10 boxes worth of toys- do you think we can top that this year!? Can't wait to find out! We love our incredibly supportive Warrior Community.

From our ILIS Family to Yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, and the joy of being surrounded by those who matter most. May your day be full of gratitude, shared meals, and meaningful moments that remind us of all we have to be thankful for.
This year at Indian Land Intermediate has been nothing short of amazing. We are deeply grateful for our supportive families, community members, PTO members and the sponsors of our PTO who help make our school initiatives successful. We are thankful for the hard working staff members in the building who strive to provide the best enviornment and education for your children. And speaking of, we are especially grateful for this amazing group of 5th and 6th graders. They inspire us daily, and they are the heart of everything we do. We love our Warriors!
If you’re traveling this holiday, we wish you safe journeys. If you’re shopping, may you snag the best deals. And if you indulge in a little extra dessert, just know—you’ve earned it!
Happy Thanksgiving! We will see everyone on Monday, December 2nd. Don't forget- it's the first day of December to Remember. "SNO-M-G": wear white, sparkles or shiny!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve from Ms. Hensley’s Class! She writes, “My students learned about the history of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and then we read Balloons over Broadway to learn about the Puppeteer who made the parade happen! Students then got to design their own balloons that could be featured in the parade!”
Thank you so much for sharing, Ms. Hensley! And my goodness, these drawing are incredible! Great work as always, Warriors. 🥰

We are SO VERY THANKFUL to all the families who donated pies and muffins to our staff, as well as to the PTO for working so hard to coordinate the drop offs and distribution! What a massive undertaking- to ensure that over 120 people have a delicious treat to bring to the holiday table on Thanksgiving. Indian Land Intermediate School has the best community and unwavering support. And we are thankful for that not just during this holiday season, but always. We appreciate you all so much.
Enjoy your Holiday, Warriors! Thank you again!

Our staff at Indian Land Intermediate wants to send a HUGE thank you to the Transformation Church community! Our school was treated to a coffee truck last Friday on a cold, brisk morning. The caffeine, and generous gesture, were the exact pick me up we needed to help us sail into the last few days before Thanksgiving!
Transformation Church has always been there to support ILIS, and we cannot thank them enough for keeping our staff and students in their hearts and on their minds. We appreciated this so much!

December to Remember is ALMOST HERE! Warrior Families, we can't wait to end the calendar year in style. From themed dress up days, to a day of giving, as well as a PTO surprise coming before your break, we hope your students are ready to end 2024 celebrating!

We have a message from Ms. Riddle, our fantastic band director at ILIS!
"I have an AWESOME congratulations post for some 6th grade band kids that made it into an audition last week.
Last Wednesday, five 6th grade band students auditioned for the 2024 LCSD All-County Band. These auditions are amongst 6th - 8th grade band students across Lancaster County. We had two of our very own ILIS Band students make it. Help me in giving a huge congratulations to Trevor Jordan (trumpet) and Bobby Vasile (trombone) for making it into this Honor Band! Trevor and Bobby will travel to Lancaster High School on December 5 to participate in the All-County Clinic where they will then perform a concert in the Lancaster High School Auditorium that evening. Go Warriors!"
Give them lots of love, families and friends! We are so proud of Trevor and Bobby!

October was full of so many fun activities, and we are still trying to play catch up on our posts!
A few weeks ago, Mr. Pendarvis’s 5th grade Social Studies classes were learning all about Inventors and Inventions during the Industrial Revolution. He writes, "My students had a research project and they had to research an invention of their choice and make either a 3D model or a poster displaying their research. They all did a great job!"
Yes they did, Mr. Pendarvis! Families, be sure to check out our Facebook page for even more photos!
