Beginning this summer, LCSD will phase out our current email/call communication system, Blackboard Connect. It will be replaced with Apptegy Alerts. Be on the lookout for communication from this new system and do not "delete" or "unsubscribe." Remember, this communication is from the school and the district, and lots of important information is shared through this email/call system. We want to ensure you get updates this summer regarding information for the start of the 2024-2025 school year! Text messages will be received from 98900. What a beautiful day at Brooklyn Springs! Today we honored outstanding leadership for the 23-24 school year.
Kristen Cason, First Grade, was awarded Teacher of the Year! She has been leading the way at BSE for 13 years. She has taught third and first grades. Miss Cason is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone at anytime.
Madison Hatcher, Fourth Grade, was awarded Beginning Teacher of the Year! This is her third year at BSE. Even as a new teacher, Madison has continued to be a leader and outstanding member each and every day.
Mary Margaret Riester, Receptionist, was awarded Support Staff Member of the Year. This is her third year at BSE. As the first face you meet, you'll always find a welcoming smile and helpful hand with Mrs. Riester all the time!
Thank you so much ladies, for everything you do for our children, school, families, and community. You are a huge part of what makes Brooklyn Springs Elementary the BEST SCHOOL EVER!

Congratulations to these two awesome leaders! Ashley Hancock, Literacy Coach, and Emily Jackson, Music Teacher, were nominated by their colleagues as Beavers of the Month! Way to go ladies!

Due to the threat of inclement weather, Lancaster County School District has designated Tuesday, January 9, 2024, as an E-Learning Day for all schools and offices. There will not be any afterschool activities today or tomorrow. Again, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, will be an E-Learning Day for all employees and students.
This is over safety concerns of the potential for severe weather in our area. Based on weather guidance, we could experience heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging winds, and the possibility of tornadoes. The latest weather predictions show parts of our county getting winds of up to 30 mph with wind gusts exceeding 40 mph. If this comes to fruition, we will face dangers operating school buses and in transportation in general. We will continue to monitor the weather and take any necessary safety precautions as warranted to keep our students safe.
For more specifics for your student, your student’s teacher and school will send more information.
This early notice will allow everyone to make the necessary arrangements for tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the weather, and we will keep you informed through Remind texts and the district website.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. As always, keeping our students and staff safe is our number one priority.

Congratulations to first-grade teacher Miss Kristen Cason and multi-language specialist Miss Amanda Mancilla-Kimbrough on being nominated as the Staff Members of the Month! These ladies continue to do amazing things day in and day out for our children at Brooklyn Springs! Thank you so much for being such amazing leaders for us all!

Happy New Year BSE! Welcome to 2024! I hope that it is the best year yet for all of you!
